ACT II
- 2.1. “Oh, how exhilarating that was!”
- 2.1. “Mary, please! We have serious matters to attend to!”
- 2.1. “Brockton spoke to me just before we left. He suspects.”
- 2.1. “Doubtless he thinks I’ve simply whispered in a few choice ears, but any attention at all could prove disastrous.”
- 2.1. “I suppose we must act quickly, then, before he has the chance to bolster his defenses.”
- 2.1. “This world would trap her into the obligation of motherhood, and yet she risks ruining herself to fulfill it.”
- 2.1. “But I thought you said there was nothing to identify it.” “Ah, but there is. It simply requires the proper eye to see it.”
- 2.1. “Even the smallest details can carry the marks of identity.”
- 2.1. “So it is safe to say that our writer is a man of some background, and was raised in the country.”
- 2.1. “That’s astounding!” “A trifle.”
- 2.1. “Madam, if you’d like me to come with you, does that mean you were pleased with me the first time?”
- 2.2. The maid at the club pours brandy.
- 2.2. “There is a gentleman with a strong Yorkshire accent in the supper room.”
- 2.2. “I have found to my advantage that people seldom look up.”
- 2.2. “Do you mean to bleed me dry?”
- 2.2. “Looks to be a service knife.”
- 2.2. “Oh, hecky-pecky!”
- 2.2. “Nathaniel! You must take Lord Brockton from the room!”
- 2.2. “Lord Brockton– the undersecretary? He is here?”
- 2.2. “What ho, gentlemen! I was hoping I might interest everyone in a game of cards.”
- 2.2. “Why, yes, sounds a capital idea.”
- 2.2. “Forgive me, sir, but– Hawking, did you say?”
- 2.2. “My good graces! You found Uncle’s service blade!”
- 2.2. “I would have been most distraught if I’d lost it for good.”
- 2.2. “Oh, blast it!”
- 2.2. “You were not to expose our work to anyone! Least of all Nathaniel!”
- 2.3. “It’s madness! Knives and bullets! Breaking into buildings! Games of cat and mouse with… society blackmailers!”
- 2.3. “Why isn’t she here? Why hasn’t she come back yet?”
- 2.3. “Not followed? By Jove!”
- 2.3. “Madam, I hardly know what to say!”
- 2.3. “Then say nothing, Nathaniel.”
- 2.3. “Am I to take it that you’ve been going out on these… ventures… for some time now?”
- 2.3. “No. No, madam. I simply cannot allow you to continue in this way.”
- 2.3. “Now I want you to leave.”
- 2.3. “No, madam. What would you have done?”
- 2.3. “I have managed my endeavors for years before a housemaid deigned to lend her expertise.”
- 2.3. “But how can you help them if you don’t think they’re worth saving?”
- 2.3. “The boy is the child of her body. And you won’t even speak his name.”
- 2.3. “If that’s outside my place, madam, well, then I have no more use for my place than you do for yours.”
- 2.3. “Forgive me, madam. But… I had to speak.”
- 2.5. “It wasn’t my doing! Lord Brockton forced me to it, I dassent deny him!”
- 2.5 “Suddenly he threatened to ruin me unless I kept the boy for him.”
- 2.5. “He’ll kill you– whoever you are.”
- 2.5. “Boss! Here’s here!”
- 2.5. “He’s lightning quick, and I’d wager he’s the same body we was tracking the other night.”
- 2.5. “Now I must ask you to be very brave.”
- 2.5. “You must go in and retrieve your son.”
- 2.5. “That is your boy in there… that is your Gabriel.”
- 2.5. “Good luck, Nathaniel!” “To you as well.”
- 2.5. “They are coming.”
- 2.5. Mary takes on this guy first.
- 2.5. Mrs. Hawking cheers her on.
- 2.5. Battle of the stick weapons.
- 2.5. Get him, Mary!
- 2.5. Disarming blow!
- 2.5. Mary chases him off.
- 2.5. Mrs. Hawking is a martial artist.
- 2.5. She’s stronger than she looks.
- 2.5. Grapple!
- 2.5. Take him out!
- 2.5. Victory for Victoria!
- 2.5. We beat the mooks up! Awesome!
- 2.5. Big finish– the villain breaks in with a gun.
- 2.5. “That you came yourself– you must be even madder than I thought!”
- 2.5. Badass disarm.
- 2.5. “You’re just a woman!” “And you, just a man.”
- 2.6. “I owe you an apology.” “As much as I owe you a debt of thanks.”
- 2.6. “I shall consider us even if you shall.”
- 2.6. “I always knew you were a remarkable woman. Only I didn’t know how.”
- 2.6. “Nathaniel… the Colonel would have been proud of you.”
- 2.6. “Is this the house of Mrs. Victoria Hawking?”
- 2.6. “Please, I’ve just got to see the lady.”
- 2.6. “I hear you help women in rough spots.”
- 2.6. “I’m in a right proper one now, and I ain’t got nowhere else to turn.”
- 2.6. “But might I ask… who might this be with you?”
- 2.6. “Please, Miss Monroe. I’m certain we will be able to help you.”
